About This Article

Part of Health Quality Ontario’s mandate is to support quality improvement in the healthcare system. One of the ways Health Quality Ontario works to achieve this objective is by highlighting opportunities for change; assessing and discussing topics that offer the potential for system-wide improvement.

Following is current edition of HealthcarePapers, which is published four times per year by Longwoods Publishing. Its format is an invited essay — Using Common Work Environment Metrics to Improve Performance in Healthcare Organizations by Dr. Ben Chan, MD, MPH, MPA, President & Chief Executive Officer, Health Quality Ontario; and Graham Lowe, PhD, President, The Graham Lowe Group Inc — followed by six commentaries on the essay and Dr. Chan and Mr. Lowe’s responses to these commentaries.
