Residents First Webcast
March 9, 2010
A Residents First webcast was held on March 9, 2010, for all year one Resident First participating homes. Hosted by Dr. Ben Chan (Chair, Residents First Steering Committee and CEO, OHQC), Shelagh Nowlan (Vice Chair, Residents First Steering Committee and Administrator, Providence Care (Kingston)) and Eileen Patterson (Director, Quality Improvement, OHQC), the webcast provided an overview of the key components of Residents First:
· Aim, vision and mission
· Implementation, timelines and new developments
· Communications: strategy, visual identity and support

Quality Improvement Facilitation in Toronto
February 24-26, 2010
The OHQC, in Partnership with Long Term Care, hosted a second Improvement Facilitation training session in Toronto on February 24-26, 2010. Over 50 participants from several long term care homes in Ontario attended the interactive session. The feedback received from the participants was positive, and they are excited to start on the quality improvement journey in their Long Term Care homes.

Quality Improvement Facilitation in Toronto
January 24-26, 2010
The OHQC in partnership with long-term care sector stakeholders hosted a training session in Quality Improvement Facilitation in Toronto on January 24-26, 2010. Over 40 participants from several long-term care homes took part. The session was interactive and the feedback quite positive. The participants are excited to start their quality improvement journey.

Long-Term Care Quality Improvement Facilitator Training: Two-Day Workshop

On March 16th and 17th, the OHQC hosted the Long-Term Care Quality Improvement Facilitator Training workshop in Toronto. The workshop drew over 120 participants from several long-term care homes.

Pan-Canadian Webcast of the 2008 IHI National Forum on Quality Improvement in Health Care
On December 10th and 11th, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) and Medbuy Corporation (Medbuy) jointly hosted the pan-Canadian webcast of the 2008 Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) National Forum on Quality Improvement in Health Care. The broadcast provided an excellent opportunity for healthcare employees, Board members, patients and clients, to tune into the forum's keynote and mini note presentations, and to find out about Canadian success stories in patient safety and quality improvement.
