This section breaks down findings by individual
long-term care home. You can search the results for:
- Falls;
- Pressure ulcers (how frequently they occur, and whether or not
they are healing after they occur);
- Worsening bladder function; and
- Use of restraints.
This website provides information on the key areas in which
long-term care (LTC) homes are measuring quality. The site aims to be a
resource for potential residents of long-term care and their families
and for LTC homes to support quality improvement.

for suggested questions that residents and families can ask at their
homes.
When searching for information about a
home, keep in mind that not all homes are able to report their results
at this time. At this time, results are available only for over 125
homes. Many homes are still developing the ability to collect the data.
Check back regularly, as more homes will be added over time. With the
release of the next LTC Public Report in March 2012, we anticipate that
all homes will be publicly reporting on key quality indicators. To find
out more, see
About the
Site and read our
FAQs.
Some homes have
a higher proportion of residents who are very frail than others.
Frailer persons are more likely to have a fall, pressure ulcer or other
problems. To make fair comparisons from one home to the next, we use a
statistical method called risk adjustment, which accounts for
differences in the frailty of residents between homes.

Acknowledgements
Because
participation in this second phase of public reporting is voluntary, we
thank all homes who provided information. We also acknowledge the
special contribution of organizations that oversee multiple homes. They
helped organize and facilitate their homes’ participation.
These organizations include Chartwell Reit, Lambton County,
Leisureworld, Specialty Care, the City of Toronto, Extendicare, Jarlette
Health Services and the City of Ottawa.
